Markham District Veterans Golf Event – A Great Success
The Markham District Veterans Association Golf Event was held at Bunker Hill Golf Club on August 20th, with 52 golfers taking part.
Dinner was catered by Mother’s Restaurant of Markham.
Congratulations to the winning teams:
- First Place:Mike Johnson, Ryan Johnson Paul Aspinwall and Darren Aspinwall — 5 under par
- Second Place:Carl Amyotte, Bruce Gilbert, Dan Forfar and Dean George — 4 under par
- Best Effort:Cora Watson, Karen Wieczorek, Helen Stuart and Julia Havrey — 14 over par
The remaining teams were drawn from a hat and invited to the prize table to select a prize.
We also held a raffle featuring some terrific prizes, which raised $505, while the 50/50 draw raised approximately $300. Overall, the golf event netted approximately $3,200 for the club’s ongoing charity programs and activities for veterans and the community.
